Maddy, dressed in white, stands at the back of the church. At the end of the aisle is Rob - the man she's about to marry. Next to Rob is Ben - best man and the best friend any two people ever had.

And that's the problem.

Because if it wasn't Rob waiting for her at the altar, there's a strong chance it would be Ben. Loyal and sensitive Ben has always kept his feelings to himself, but if he turned round and told Maddy she was making a mistake, would she listen? And would he be right?

Best friends since childhood, Maddy, Ben and Rob thought their bond was unbreakable. But love changes everything. Maddy has a choice to make but will she choose wisely? Her heart, and the hearts of the two best men she knows, depend on it...
Ben and Robert met Maddy Hurst when she joined their class at primary school aged nine, and stood awkwardly at the front of the class under scrutiny from her peers. They both fell in love with her.

They went through their schooling as a threesome and dubbed themselves 'The Tripod' in a tongue in cheek manner, but it was true, they were three legs that depended on each other to hold the others up.

They were inseparable throughout secondary school, and as the years went on Ben realised just how much he had actually fallen in love with Maddy, and she realised just how much she loved Robert.

The school trip to Paris changed everything for the trio, still unbreakable but the dynamics had altered. This was the beginning of a turbulent ten years for the friends, culminating in Maddy's wedding. But who did she choose?

I really loved this second offering from Giovanna Fletcher. Narrated by Maddy and Ben, with offerings from Robert, it made totally addictive reading, and was written so beautifully and eloquently with great observational wit of the nineties and noughties - there were parts where I felt I was back at school myself!

The epilogue was perfect and everything I had hoped for (although I'm still not sure which one of the boys I'd have chosen. This book is definitely a strong case for legalising bigamy - read it, it would work)

So thank you, Mrs Fletcher for a really, really fabulous read!
